The Grassharper Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving the Pacific Northwest since 2009. Michael Harper created the Grassharper Foundation to assist children, families, and local community organizations. Through fundraising, community outreach, and collaboration with local nonprofits, the foundation provides scholarships, grants, and educational support to instill integrity, honesty, and a positive attitude in our children for the enrichment of our community.
For the past three years, the Grassharper Foundation has planned, promoted, and financially supported annual public golf events and dinner galas to raise funds for local organizations. Funds are raised through silent and oral auctions, which are held at local Oregon golf clubs that also support children, families, and the community. The dinner gala and golf tournament are scheduled annually on the last Sunday and Monday of September.
Grassharper has also promoted, organized, and planned summer youth basketball skills camps at Lewis and Clark College. These basketball clinics promote goodwill and youth involvement in our community to encourage diversity, wellness, and teamwork. This amazing event gives boys the opportunity to improve their shot, learn new plays, understand how to work well with a team, and bring their playing to a higher level.
Community outreach has been enhanced by actively participating with local and state boards and commissions. In addition to Harper’s contributions to the Grassharper Foundation, board members, community volunteers, and nonprofit organizations put in over 70 hours per month promoting Grassharper.
